Friendship, empowerment & “Someone Else’s Shoes”

Episode Notes

Why hello everyone and welcome to Orange Juice Optional! In this week’s episode, Suzanne and Michelle are excited to talk about March’s book of the Month, “Someone Else’s Shoes” by JoJo Moyes.

As this episode begins, the ladies talk about an uncomfortable experience that Michelle witnessed while dining with her husband.  While at dinner, Michelle heard the woman sitting next to her make passive aggressive comments towards another woman.  Michelle asked Suzanne if that passive aggressive behavior would also fall into the category of ‘having a “Karen” moment’? As the ladies talk about this situation, the conversation quickly turns into female empowerment and becomes the ideal bridge into discussing “Someone Else’s Shoes”.

The ladies then have an inspired conversation about “Someone Else’s Shoes”. After an accidental mix up at the gym, this wonderfully written book steps into exploring some major life themes. These life themes include (but are not limited to): the importance of friendship, female empowerment, self respect, finding yourself and using your voice. This was an enjoyable read with identifiable characters. As always, the ladies are eager to discuss their reactions and take aways with each other and the listeners.

As the episode comes to an end, they will leave the listeners with an inspirational quote that they like to call ‘Something to Sip on’.  Hold onto the quote!  Think about it & savor it…Until next week…Cheers!!
